Himesh Reshammiya is a multi-talented Indian music director, singer, songwriter, actor, film producer, and television personality. His career began in television production and he rose to become a commercially successful music composer and singer in Bollywood.

Born on July 23, 1973, in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, Himesh Reshammiya is the son of music composer Vipin Reshammiya. He began his career at 16 as a producer for Doordarshan Ahmedabad and later for Zee TV, where he produced serials like Amar Prem and Andaaz.

In 1998, he made his debut as a music director for the film Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya, which starred Salman Khan. This led to a long-standing collaboration with Salman Khan, with Himesh composing for films like Bandhan and Hello Brother.

Himesh's musical style is recognizable for his nasal voice and a mix of pop, folk, and classical elements with electronic beats. He gained significant popularity in the mid-2000s as a playback singer. His first solo song was for the 2005 film Aashiq Banaya Aapne. The title track became a major hit and earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer in 2006. This was a notable achievement for a music director. He followed this with a series of popular songs, including:

He has also produced films through his company, HR Musik, such as The Xpose (2014) and Teraa Surroor (2016).

Himesh Reshammiya has been a prominent figure on Indian television, serving as a judge and mentor on popular singing reality shows like Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge. His catchphrase "Jai Mata Di, Let's Rock!" became well-known during his time on these shows.

Himesh was married to Komal Reshammiya for over two decades. They have a son, Swaym. After their divorce in 2017, he married actress Sonia Kapoor in 2018.

Over his career, he has won numerous awards for his music, including multiple Zee Cine Awards, Star Screen Awards, and IIFA Awards for Best Music Direction. He is credited with bringing a new style of pop-infused Bollywood music to the forefront and creating a unique identity for himself as a composer-turned-singer.
