In Mumbai, he continued his training at a cricket camp at the BARC colony and later at the renowned Elf Vengarskar Academy, where he was mentored by former Indian captain Dilip Vengsarkar. His domestic career for Mumbai began in 2010 with his T20 and first-class debuts. He quickly established himself as a prolific run-scorer. In the 2011-12 Ranji Trophy season, he was Mumbai's top run-scorer with 754 runs in 9 matches, including a double-century.
